Terms of use

Last updated 9 August 2026 · Rihla is in open alpha.

Rihla is alpha software. It is incomplete, it will change, and it can lose your data. Back up from More → Backup and keep the file somewhere real. Please do not make it the only record of anything you would be sad to lose.

What you get

Rihla is free to use. The Quran, the adhkar, the du‘a and hadith libraries and the entire game are free and will stay free. Nothing about the deen is ever put behind a payment, and there are no adverts, no loot boxes and no chance mechanics.

You may optionally pay to support the project. That buys cosmetic extras and our thanks. It does not unlock content, and it never will.

Your saves are yours

You keep every right in what you write into Rihla — your tasks, your notes, your rewards. Cloud backup is encrypted with a key we do not hold, so we cannot read it, hand it over, or restore it for you if you lose your recovery code.

What we ask of you

Religious content

Rihla reproduces the Quran, hadith collections and Hisn al-Muslim from published sources, cited by collection name. We do not invent references. If you find an error in the Arabic, a translation, or an attribution, please tell us — corrections come before features.

The app is a habit tracker with a game around it. Points are not a measure of your worship, and nothing in Rihla claims to be. It grows a fictional traveler; what your deeds are worth is between you and Allah.

Payments

If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe under their terms. You can cancel any time from the account screen; you keep what you have paid for until the period ends. Because the app is free, we do not offer refunds as a matter of course — but if something went wrong, write to us and we will sort it out.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any moment from More → Rihla Account → Delete account. We may suspend an account that is attacking the service. If we ever shut the service down, we will give notice with enough time to export your data.

No warranty

Rihla is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, missed prayers, missed reminders, or any indirect loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Rihla is not a substitute for a scholar, and prayer times it calculates are a convenience, not an authority. Verify against your local masjid.

Changes

We will post changes here. Continuing to use Rihla after a change means you accept it; if you don't, delete your account and keep your local saves.
